What is MHT CET EXAM ?

MHT CET EXAM (MH CET) or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai for admission to the first year engineering and technology programs (BE / BTech) and Pharmacy Program (BPharma / PharmaD) in the state . Till 2018, the exam was conducted by DTE, Maharashtra.

In 2013, the exam was abolished and entered into undergraduate engineering programs (BE / BTech) based on JEE Main. However, from 2016 onwards, the exam was resumed after which the government set 50% weightage for class 12 marks and CET score 50% instead. From 2018, the MHT CET was mandatory for entry into the state.

Based on the results of the candidates in MHT CET EXAM 2021, the candidates will be allotted seats in various colleges in Maharashtra. It is one of the largest examinations of examinations in India as around three lakh applicants appear in the MHT CET every year. The MHT CET EXAM is considered a relatively difficult exam to attempt and there is usually a large discussion among the candidates on how to prepare it.

Official MHT CET EXAM Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the Syllabus 2021 with a marking scheme. Each paper will carry 100 marks without any negative marking. 2 marks for every correct answer in Maths paper and 1 mark will be given in other papers. According to the MHT CET 2021 exam pattern, the exam will be conducted as a three-hour computer-based test. MHT CET 2021 will consist of three question papers: Paper 1 (Mathematics), Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) and Paper 3 (Biology) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

MHT CET 2021 is expected to be held in the second week of May 2021. Students can expect the application form to be available in February or march of MHT CET 2021.

MHT CET EXAM 2021 Eligibility

The eligibility of MHT CET 2021 is yet to be announced by the organizing officer of the examination. It is expected that the eligibility criteria for MHT CET EXAM will be announced along with the application form. Interested candidates of MHTCET 2021 may refer below eligibility criteria (as per previous year):

All those candidates who have passed the examination i.e. HSC / 12th standard or its equivalent and are of Indian nationality are eligible to appear for MHT CET 2021. There is no age limit for admission and application in MHT-CET 2021.

Candidate type

  • Maharashtra State Candidate
  • A candidate can claim only the type of Maharashtra State Candidate i.e. Type A to E.
Type Eligibility Criterion of MHT CET EXAM
Type-A (i) Candidates who have passed SSC and HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science examination from a recognized institute in the state of Maharashtra.

(ii) Candidates who are either domiciled in Maharashtra and / or born in Maharashtra;

Type-B A candidate who does not fall into the Type-A given above, but who or whose father or mother is dominated by the State of Maharashtra and holds a Domicile Certificate.
Type-C A candidate who does not fall into Type-A or Type-B, but whose father or mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India, who is posted and reported to perform duty in the State of Maharashtra before the last date. Submission of applications for CAP.
Type-D A candidate who does not appear in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose father or mother is a Maharashtra Government or Maharashtra Government employee or retired employee.
Type-E A candidate who does not appear in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose father or mother is a Maharashtra Government or Maharashtra Government employee or retired employee.

All India Candidature

Candidates holding Indian nationality are eligible under this category.

Minority candidate

Candidates belonging to a particular linguistic or religious minority community from the state of Maharashtra and notified by the government are eligible under this category.

Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, foreign national

Such candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT CET 2021.

Note: (a) It is compulsory for a minority candidate from Maharashtra State to apply for admission to BE / BTech for MHT CET 2021. However, All India Candidate candidates may or may not appear for MHT CET 2021 as JEE (Main) scores will be preferred over MHT CET 2021 for admission to BE / BTech.

(B) It is mandatory for Maharashtra State candidates to appear for MHT CET 2021, Minority candidates for admission in All India Candidate BPharma / FRD

Jammu and Kashmir Overseas Candidate

Children of civilians who migrate from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or the unsafe border area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir due to terrorist activities in a relatively safe place in Jammu and Kashmir in 1990
Children of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Indian Police Service (IPS) or Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces shifted to Jammu and Kashmir to deal with terrorist activities and held this post Joined or before the last date for submission of applications for admission; or

Note: Although preference is given for JEE and K. Overseas candidates appearing on MHT CET for JEE (Main) are advised to appear for JEE (Main).

MHT CET 2021 admission process

Step 1: Register for MH CET 2021

Firstly, the aspirants of MHCET 2021 have to register themselves on the official portal by entering the required details. candidates will not be able to fill the MHT CET 2021 application form Without registration.

Step 2: Filling the application form

The candidates have to fill their personal details, academic details and communication details while filling the application form. After entering all the details, the candidates have to pay the application fee. The application fee will be Rs 800 for the open / general category candidates and Rs 600 for reserved category candidates. Payment of MHCET application fee will be done online through debit card / credit card / net-banking.

Step 3: Download MHT CET EXAM 2021 Admit Card

The MHT CET 2021 Admit Card release has been postponed by the Common Entrance Test Cell until any further notice. After the availability of the admit card, the candidates have to login to the official website using the required credentials.

Step 4: Appeal for MHT CET EXAM 2021

The MHT CET will be conducted in two slots as of the dates to be announced later by the Common Entrance Test Cell. Candidates are advised to reach the examination center at least one hour before the commencement of the examination.

Step 5: MHT CET 2021 Results
